Justin Smith – Executive Artistic Director

Graduated with a BFA in Theatre from St. Michael’s College in Vermont. He is the former artistic director of Carolina Theatre Group, LLC., ran his own theatre company City Stage for 16 years & has produced over 50 shows. Favorite directing credits include RENT, Full Monty, Debbie Does Dallas The Musical, Wait Until Dark, Greater Tuna, Marvin’s Room and The Rocky Horror Show. Favorite acting roles include Petrucchio, Iago, Orsino, Frank-N-Furter, Gaston in Beauty and the Beast and Norbert Garsteki in The Great American Trailer Park, the Musical, Justin also works in the television and film industry.

Ray Kennedy – Producer

Ray has worked with Opera House Theater Company for over 30 years. As a Director and Choreographer he has luckily worked on critically acclaimed and awarded productions such as "Oklahoma!," (Best Musical, Best Director) "Chicago," (Best Musical,) "Hairspray," (Best Musical, Best Choreography) "Kiss Me Kate," (Best Choreography,) "Cinderella," (Best Choreography,} and one of his favorites, "A Little Night Music," (Best Musical.: This past year he directed and choreographed "Nine," "Sunset Boulevard" and "Mama Mia." Ray spend many "years at sea" as the owner/producer of Kennedy Entertainment which produced musical theatre shows on the high seas on such ships as the Queen Elizabeth 2, Royal Viking Sun, Sagafjord, Vistafjord, Stella Solaris, American Hawaii Cruise vessel's SS Independence and the MS Patriot, the Crown Dynasty, Crown Monarch and his favorite ship and the first.... the Palm Beach Princess where he was Director of Entertainment for 22 years. Ray also produced "Lost in the Fifties" and "Country Tonite!" in Branson, Missouri. His choreography work has been seen in Diet Pepsi commercials, Disney films, "One Tree Hill" and fashion shows all over the USA for his friend, the designer SHERRI HILL. Ray worked for 10 years as Vice President of Programs and Service and musical arranger for the USO of New York and presently works with www..positiveimpact.world with many non for profits. His claim to fame is a garden at Wrightsville Beach ( that is very hard) and appearing on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" ( very interesting and Kim and Kendall were extremely nice.)He loves Opera House Theater Company and Thalian Hall and thanks all his friends for their never ending support.

Tina Leak – Producer

Tina is a former Radio City Music Hall Rockette & has worked with: Gregory Hines, Maurice Hines, Ben Vereen, Jennifer Holiday, Mercedes Ellington, Gregg Burge, Dennis Hopper, David Cassidy, Randy Skinner, Michael Lichtefeld & Muhammad Ali, to name a few. She was a member of both the national & international touring companies of Balletap USA and DancEllington; was a featured back-up dancer for PINK, in national commercials for Sapporo Beer, Honda Motorcycles & Pepsi. Choreography experience spans theatre, television, cruise ships & assisted for Super Bowl XXXII Halftime. She is listed in Who’s Who in Dance; has been awarded American Dance Achievement Award; Reach Out Touch a Youth Award; Radio City Music Hall Rockette Showmanship Award and a Star News Theatre Award for Best Choreography. After retiring in 1999 as lead showgirl in Spellbound Las Vegas Tina signed on with MGM-Mirage Corporation as Director of VIP Marketing & Sales for Nightclubs & Entertainment. Since moving to Wilmington, Tina has served on the Board of Trustees for Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts for 5 years & Thalian Association Community Theatre for the past 6 years, assisting with re-organization of the Youth Academy classes & the creation of Community Outreach Programs.

Alice Sherwood – Company Manager

For thirty+ years, Alice has been working with Opera House Theatre Company, including for four years as Artistic Director. She is proud to carry on the legacy of her mother and stepfather.  They can never be replaced, and their absence will always be felt, but Opera House will go on in their memory and in their honor. 

Jason Aycock – Youth Theatre Coordinator

Has been involved in the Wilmington Theatre Community for more than 13 years and has been a part of more than 100 productions as either performer, choreographer, director, or artistic director. He is proud to have been involved with Opera House Theatre Company since 2005 and is excited to help bring a new facet to their theatre excellence with the addition of these youth programs.

Kaitlin Baden – Marketing Manager

Kaitlin holds a BFA in vocal music performance and theatre from UNC Chapel Hill, and an MAT in education from UNC Chapel Hill. After 7+ years of teaching in the public school system, she decided to take a leap into the world of being a full-time actor and is thankful to be working with Opera House Theatre Company while also pursuing her dreams. When not working with OHTC, she works as an acting coach at Actor’s Arsenal and organizes a summer program overseas for English literacy through theater in Strasbourg, France through Strasbourg Amities USA. Favorite theatre roles include ‘Mimi’ in RENT, ‘Thea’ in Spring Awakening, ‘Jennie Mae’ in The Diviners, ‘Melpomene’ in Xanadu and ‘Blanche’ in Bonnie & Clyde.
